His neighbours participated in rounding up all the Tutsi's in his village.  Bulldozers dug the pits.  50,000 died during those days.  Everyone thought it was 50,000 plus one.  Having been shot in the head, he lay beneath the bodies of others for over a day.  When the second night came, he realized he could not stay there and eventually escaped.
