About Us
Exposure to diverse international experiences, including development, genocide, environmental disasters and worldviews that are more destructive than sustainable, produced a profound longing to see Christians understand more fully the reconciling heart of God.
This is an invitation to evaluate your behavior and reflect more fully on the things that motivate you. In looking more closely at our motives, we hope to be exposed to what we truly believe rather than what we may have thought we believed.
Paradigm Ministries exists to assist the Christians and those searching for a spiritual foundation to move toward a consistency in declaration and action, what we say and what we do.
This journey is lifelong. It requires a willingness to go deeper than the superficial and to explore motives with, at times, brutal honesty. We need to better understand how culture may impede our understanding of Biblical truth, examining the Biblical balance between separation and community service, between mercy and accountability, between spiritual disciplines and economic and environmental disciplines. In so doing, you will be able to more fully understand and celebrate the impact of Christ’s death on all of life.
As the Christian community in Canada embraces its faith it will move toward influencing the culture of local communities and national perspectives on issues as broad as economics, the environment, justice, mercy, leadership and governance. Explore the spiritual significance of these issues and how they are reflected in God’s heart through his Word.
Ideas have consequences. Please read Paradigm Ministries' Core Belief Statement and Operational Principles.
CORPORATE MISSION:
“To facilitate God-Honoring community transformation as God’s people choose congruency of life and truth through discovery and understanding.”
VALUES:
1. GRACE: to honour those with whom we interact, showing them respect and consideration while allowing them to explore, ask questions and process reactions to their own experiences from their past.
2. TRUTH: to ensure that everything explored is supported from a Biblical foundation, being cautious to avoid exaggerations and stereotyping.
3. CLARITY: to foster understanding through focusing on the issues that are relevant and doing so in a credibly discerning way.
4. RELATIONSHIP: to ensure sincere, authentic, loving connection while guiding the exploration process of others
5. PROVOKE: to arouse a feeling or action; to call forth; to provide the needed stimulus to create a recognition for the need to make a “choice”
"David Collins helped to sharpen our perspective so that we see not only our church inthe world, but also theworldin which our church has been placed.David’s thoughtful questions and keen observations have enabled us to more fully understand our call to serve our neighbourhood in urban Vancouver and how to make a holistic, lasting difference in Cambodia."
